Blood Cupping Chinese Tradition To Release Toxins

This image shows a traditional Chinese art called “cupping”, in which a cup is placed on the skin, and sucks any toxins and badness from inside the body.
This image shows a man getting it performed on top of his head, and as you can see, the cups are filled with the dark bloody substance.
“Blood cupping” is an ancient Chinese holistic practice that is said to mobilize blood flow and enhance the body’s healing properties. Cups are placed on the skin using heat to create a vacuum. An example of blood cupping is shown in a photograph in this article, where you can see the cups attached and note how the action of the vacuum reportedly draws toxins out of the body. Chinese blood cupping therapy can cause bruising at the suction sites; but, in this photograph it’s clear that the blood cupping therapy has gone awry, leaving painful blisters filled with blood serum.
